GMES & Africa Sets the Stage for the Signing of Implementation Contracts with 13 Consortia

The GMES and Africa Technical Experts Committee (TEC) has held its first meeting in Tunis  from 14-16 May 2018.  The Committee comprises Consortia of African institutions awarded to implement the GMES and Africa grants, as well as EU affiliates EUMETSAT, JRC, and the Technical Assistance Team of GMES and Africa.

The current EUTELSAT 5 satellite is approaching its end of life and a C-band service will no longer be available from the 5° location. The follow-on service will be provided from EUTELSAT 8 West starting 1 May 2018

Save the date: Sentinel 3B will be launched on April 25th

The Sentinel-3 satellites carry the same suite of cutting-edge instruments to measure oceans, land, ice and atmosphere. Sentinel-3A has been in orbit since February 2016 and will be joined by Sentinel-3B on April 25th.
